Mission: January 20, 2011, I was given the project to construct a structure that could balance a cinder block and also successfully stand as the tallest structure in class.
My Vision: First, I thought automatically to withstand something heavy as a cinder block I needed a stable and strong foundation. I began to roll up thick tubes to create length and stability of the structure. What I did notice during this process the more glue I tried to use to create the stability the more weaker it would get because of the dampness. I was already half way in the project when I notice my creation was weaken. To make it stronger I tried to make a tripod. However, because I never successfully made the structure balanced in the legs, when my structure was tested it collapsed. After understanding and seeing other ideas I would have created a strong basket to hold the cinder block which would hang from a high height.
Lesson: I learn in this project that it best to use more paper and just small bit of glue. I learned to improvise and to try to build upon mistakes.
